This promotion gives you an easy way to demonstrate your community support by raising money for local charities or nonprofit groups in your area.   • Decide how many tickets you’ll need based on how many tickets the charity thinks it can distribute.
  • To save time and money on large ticket quantities, make a master copy of the ticket sheet and bring it to your local printer–or give it to the charity coordinator and have them make their own copies.
  • For a week prior to the event, include a ticket with every bakery purchase.
  • Leave a stack of tickets on your counter.

  • Have interested charities fill out an application.
  • Hold on to completed applications for a record of all charities that have shown interest in your fundraiser.
  • Use the completed applications to help you select the charities you’ll support and schedule when you’ll hold your fundraisers.

 

Press Release
  • Click on press release icon.
  • Select the type and copy it into a word processing file on your computer.
  • Edit the copy to reflect specific information about your fundraiser.
  • Format the press release to print on you business letterhead.
  • After the event send this press release to your local newspaper.
  • Follow up with editors to make sure they received it. Ask if they plan to run it, and if so when.
  • Clip any news coverage you receive and display it in your bakery for customers to see.
  • Prior to the event you might want to see if any local radio personalities are interested in broadcasting live from your bakery on the day of the fundraiser.

  • Give ad artwork to the charity coordinator to run in their newsletters, bulletins, or other communication to their members.
  • Encourage your charity contact to use their volunteer network to promote the event with this advertisement in local publications, employee newsletters, church bulletins, etc.
